The Anjou-based start-up has designed a fully connected and now autonomous sailboat. The goal is to sail around the world without a pilot by 2020.
It is a world innovation, and it comes from Angers. The autonomous boat EVA², designed by the Saint-Barthélemy-d’Anjou start-up, Kara Technology, is now able to enter and leave the port of Les Sables d’Olonne, where it is moored, without any human action. Its 130 or so sensors, linked to the boat’s engine and propulsion system, allow it to carry out the maneuver with a precision worthy of the best sailors.
